Hey, guys...there"s a 50"s and 60"s junkyard going to scrap near Huntington WV. I went there for probably the last time today. It was owned by Jack Saunders, who died 13 years ago. I wish I could save some of that old iron, but I can"t. There"s probably 75 old 2-ton trucks and 6/700 old cars...almost enough to make a man cry..the guy"s already been hauling with a skidder...he"s scrapping untold thousands of dollars worth of goo stuff. OK, I had to get that off my chest... |

I see that every day when I take in my scrap (household scrap, don't get upset). They are bringing in tractors from the 1920's up to the 1950's and running them through the shredder. I've seen lots of Farmall's of any model, Olivers, Minneapolis Molines, and many others. I've seen trucks that I would like to have. I would take a good sized truck from the late 1940's to early 1950's and put a modern diesel with an Allison automatic, and get lots of red paint and chrome. Oh well, just daydreaming. |

Do you know any more about that salvage yard? What"s the name of it? Are they closing? I"d like to try to find some patch panels for my 54 Chevy panel truck |
