Would anyone know the specs or rather performance numbers of the 235ci inline 6. Horse power, torque, etc. What would have been the top speed of a 1948 1 1/2 ton loadmaster dump truck.

horsepower is rated around 90 and a torque rating around 174 ft pounds, both are net ratings, the top speed would depend on trans mission and rear axle ratios, but from experience, most of those old 1 1/2 and 2 ton farm trucks, if you could hit 50 the engine was wound to the wall and fixing to swap holes and pistons on you , you have to remember this is a truck, made to pull or haul a heavy load, not something to be used as a transporter, also you have to remember the roads back in 1948 were nothing like they are now, if they were paved at all and most wern't they were narrow with many twists and turns and hills, off the pavement they were rough rutted and some barely qualified as roads more like 2 cowpaths side by side, 50 then would be like driving 80 these days
