I just picked up a 46 Panel in really bad condition, meaning it's so bad I should really just go for it and do what I really want to do, which is turn it in to a 4x4 utility truck.
Does anyone out there know what chassis and front ends would be most compatible for the original body? My original frame is rough.

I am no expert on the Chevys, but I would think you could find a 1/2 ton chevy 4x4with the disc brakes and with a little work and a few small mod's you should be able to achive what you are after, Mike

I've seen one or two conversions of that nature. I think they used an S-10 4X4 chassis.

That's exactly what I found too, just yesterday. I found a couple of sites where the guy used an S-10 frame with discs, but it made no mention of 4x4. That was my idea and I am getting really excited about it, especially since the original frame will need substantial welding anyway. I also didn't realize the S-10's came as a 4x4 option. I'll dig deeper. Thanks!
