i have a 68 chevy step side half ton with drum brakes what year do i need to use for dics brakes thanks for any info

I think the disc brakes started around 73, you should not have any trouble finding parts to change over, Mike

you might have to go aftermarket as by the time '73 rolled around, they had five lug wheels on half ton 2 wheel drive

69 I think , I know my 71 has disc.

chevy trucks went to disc in 71. you can buy 6 lug disc conversion kits (after market) that are spendy but easy. or swap in a cross member complete fron a 71-87 with discs. If your truck has the trailing arms (likely does) then find a 5 lug 71 or 72 rear end. If leafs, then any 73 to 87 half ton rear should work.
