Hi:
Just acquired a 70 International 1600 truck. The valve for hoist will not move. Do i have to take it apart to fix or do I play with it until it comes free?
Thanks

put some penetrating on it and play with it first, with the operating cable or lever disconected, sometimes these get stuck if the truck hasnt been used in awhile if that doesnt do anything you'll have to pull it off and dissassemble to see what happened, |

Hello, I wont be much help on the hoist, but if you need info on your truck I think I may be able to help. Also for the IH trucks, try oldihc.org , Mike

Hi:
Thanks for the replies. There is a good chance that this truck has been sitting for a few years. Starts and runs great and should not take much to get on the road. Time will tell.
I have used some penetrating oil on it but as of yet no movement. Since this is not the most pressing item for this truck I will play with it for a while and see what happens.
Mike:
Thanks for the link. I would like to take the brake drums off to see what the brake shoes are like. Do you have the torque specs for the bearings front and rear?
Thanks

Hi:
Success at last, at least partially. I have been using penetrating oil and moving the lever and today it finally moved. So that is a success. The problem now is the hoist does not lift. I will post this as a separate question.
Thanks
