Mack B series

I have a mack b series tandem axle dump truck i would like to start restoring. It has a 800 small cam cummins in it and an 18speed quadruplex. Is there a serial tag some where to identify wich b model this is? I do have the registration but cant seem to find a model number on that. Also where could i find a rough weight estimate for it so i can have it hauled to my shop? Any good sites for wiring diagrams? Some one had the alternator disconected and there are 6 wires, need to figure out what goes where. Thank for any help, i will try to get a picture uploaded as soon as possible.

If you are not already a member of ATHS you should check them out. I'll include a link to thier website. They are a great bunch and put out a wonderful magazine about trucks and trucking companies. There are some Mack fans on there that would be able to answer any question you could have. GOOD LUCK!!

by the radiator shell im guessing thats a b73, there should be a metal tag on the cab somewhere to id it

There should be an ID plate on the inside bottom of the passengers door with the serial no. stamped in it. The model no. is part of the serial no. But remember doors do get changed, so you should look for the serial no. on the frame.
It would be on the passenger side, between the front axle and the rear hanger for the front spring. With that radiator and a Cummins engine, it probably be a B 73 or B 75, but there are other possibilities.

When you do find your serial no. contact the Mack Museum for more info specific to your truck.
