Don't know about a website, but I think a 146 was the original JD loader.A 540 JD would also work nicely if you had brackets.

The 148 loader is a good fit as well. Can use a 158 but that is a lot of loader for a tractor that light.

I think that JD built NO mounting frames for utility tractors for a 158 loader.

People have been known to get the frames and shorten them to use with 158s and lighter loaders on the smaller tractors as the 158 frames are heavier built and have the cross support. It is simply a suggestion Jim.

I would think a 158 would protrude very far out in front on a JD utility tractor. With the fulcrum effect how much rear weight does a utility tractor need to keep rear tires on the ground when picking up a 1200 # rd bale?

A 158 sticks out enough on a 4255...I'd hate to see one on something smaller.
BIG loader + SMALL tractor = BROKEN UNIT

I agree with you that a 158 is really to long for a 2940/50, heck its to long for my 4020. My point was simply that if a 146 bolts on so will a 148 and 158. I think the 148 and 146 are better choices. There is another thread on this topic with some good info in the other forum, I will drop the link in case Chad hasn't seen it.

Hope this helps.
