1999 Renault ceres 330x

Ihave aRenault ceres 330x and need a replacement engine. Its a john deere non powertec 4045DRT but I think a 4039T would fit as well. The tractor is otherwise in excellent condition but a new engine from Claas dealers cost nearly more than the value of the working machine. Any other sources for what in now anold engine?

May I ask what caused the engine to fail? It is not often you hear of a Deere engine failing like that. Having said that, I still think the MWM engines that Renault used to use were very good, very powerful and reliable.
