Does anyone know how to get the control valve out of the cylinder casting? The book says to push the valve in and stick a pin punch down into a hole in the spool and then unscrew the 2 halves of the valve. I can not figure out where to stick a pin into. HELP! |

It sounds like you have the same valve as on my 175.
If so you can try the following:
1) Pull the seal out of the rod end of the control valve.
2) With your dental tools, or two very small flat screw drivers, or some ground down nails (like me) reach in along the valve stem and remove the spiral clip that is holding the return spring assembly in. It takes a little fiddling, but is easily done. Once the spiral clip is out the whole valve stem assembly will slide out of the rod end of the valve housing. No need to screw the valve stem apart at all.
3) The two O rings and the seal that you need to replace are standard sizes that you can get anywhere, even at the AGCO dealer.
Most of the discussion on MF 35, 50, 65 series is in the Massey Harris and Massey Ferguson forum. You may want to search around there for more MF 50 info.
Good Day,
JP. |
