I was wondering what kind of machine is a 1290 case? There is one for sale locally that has a cab and has 1626 hrs. Good points? Bad points? Things to look for. Were they available with a factory cab or could the cab be aftermarket? Doing some searching around, looks like it is a re-skinned David Brown? I currently have a 584 IH with open station and lots of hours. How would it compare to the IH? I believe they are both about the same hp. |

It is a David Brown...12F/4R crash box, approx 52 PTO HP so about same as 584.
The 1294 was dropped after the merger while the 585 was kept if that gives an idea which unit was better.....(my opinion) |

Case 1290 and 1294 were OK. Avoid 1394's.All DB/Case normally leak oil, clutchs do not like to be slipped. Most 1290/1294 were ROPS over here.Well engineered, but must be correctly maintained. With low hours and the right price I would buy it. 94 series discontinued probably due to internal politics within CaseIH. |

495man, didn't you once tell me your local dealer had an 84 series cab on their lot? I think someone else was going to look at it so I didn't bother at the time. I thought your local dealer was Fort Equipment? Do you know if they still have it? |
