Can"t say for certain, but i think you should have more than 2000 psi at the remotes... most of my tractors run 2500-2700 psi, that might explain lots of other things like power steering/3 point hitch chatter... or maybe compensator valve/priority valve not up to snuff. Latter more likely if 2000psi is to JD spec... i"m thinking a 2440 is closed centre hydraulics like the larger 40 series. |

What kind of pto dual stage clutch or ind pto?
Stand-by pressure should be 2250 psi. |

The tractor is ind pto. I also checked priority valve and is good. 2000 psi at emplements. For some reason I have to rev tractor to 2000 rpm to get any pressure out of the front pump. Trying to get a gauge to check the pressure on front pump. I also checked the valve above the hyd. filter and is good. Thanks for your help. |

I'm not up on Deere's to give you specifics, but in essence, you have a charge pressure problem. That may stem from a blocked suction screen, broken pipe, leaking line or leaking clutch pack... or just a plain worn out pump.
Somewhere in the charge system you will find your problem.
I'd suggest consulting a Deere shop manual from here on it...

Ind pto's on JD utility tractors are known for cracked/leaking tubes supplying oil to pto brake & clutches.
Low stand-by pressure could be leaking stroke control valve or internal high pressure leak possibly at 3pt lift valves. With engine running,3pt raised, look inside trans oil filler hole for spraying oil. Otherwise feel of other hyd components for extra heat. |
