|
|
I purchased a used JD 1050 this summer for my acreage with skid loader, bushhog with 4 wheel assit. Runs very good and no complaints.
Would appreciate any information on the best type of engine / block heater to get for my JD 1050. Also any other suggestions for keeping the tractor useable in winter.
Thank you. |

I"d recommend a block heater. You might also consider putting it on a timer to automatically turn on an hour or two before you want to use the tractor. |

Hey, thanks for the replies. I appreciate that.
I bought a AR87167 FIELD INSTALLATION block heater from the local jd dealer. I asked him where this installs and he could not find that information.
Any ideas where on the block the plug is located that will fit the threads on the block heater that I bought. There is 1 ratchet head plug by the starter but it looks smaller than the threads on the heater I have.

There is only one threaded plug that appears large enough and it's on starter side of block. Part description states plug is 1" in diameter but no spec's given on block heater so you'll need to measure heater threads. |

FIELD INSTALLATION KIT part # AR87167 has a 1 1/4 thread so unless there is another place on the engine we cannot find I think I will go get my 72.00 back from JD or see if they have a block heater that will work with the 1" plug. Thanks for all the help.
